ABOUT

Safe Streets Monte Vista

This project brings the community together to improve safety on our streets and reduce serious injuries and traffic deaths. Through the Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) program, we are developing a data-driven, community-informed plan that identifies safety needs, prioritizes solutions, and guides future investments. The sections below explain what SS4A is, what this project aims to achieve, how decisions are made, and who is involved in shaping the plan.

What Is SS4A?

Safe Streets and Roads for All (SS4A) is a federal program that helps communities prevent serious injuries and traffic deaths. It supports local planning and actions that make streets safer for everyone—whether you walk, bike, drive, roll, or take transit.

Project Goals

The goal of this plan is to eliminate traffic deaths and reduce serious injuries on our streets. Guided by Vision Zero principles, the project focuses on creating safer streets through thoughtful design, policies, and community-informed solutions that protect all road users.

What the Plan Will Include

The plan will identify safety projects, policy and program strategies, and priorities for improving street safety. It will also include performance measures and tracking tools to help monitor progress and guide future investments over time.

How Decisions Are Made

Decisions are guided by a combination of data and community input. We analyze crash trends and safety data alongside feedback from people who live, work, and travel in the area to ensure solutions address real needs and local experiences.

Project Partners

This project is a collaborative effort among local and regional partners, including the City, County, and transportation agencies such as CDOT Region 5. Working together helps align priorities, share expertise, and coordinate improvements across jurisdictions.

Steering Committee

A steering committee made up of local leaders, agency representatives, and community stakeholders provides guidance throughout the project. Committee members help shape priorities, review recommendations, and ensure the plan reflects shared goals and community values.
